The public rioted for several days after the massacre, incredulous that the carefree prince once known as “Dippy” could be responsible for the violence. There was also speculation that the slain king’s unpopular brother Gyanendra, who is now Nepal’s monarch, was responsible for the tragedy.

New reports have also emerged ultimately blaming Devyani. They say to placate his parents, Dipendra had agreed to their plan for him to marry another girlfriend and keep Devyani as a mistress. But Devyani reportedly rejected that plan.

Devyani is now in hiding in Europe, and refusing to come home. Without her presence, many questions remain unanswered.

Shortly after the carnage, the new king opened a two-member official commission to understand what happened.

Nagpur: The superb build-up run has made India the clear favourites for an unprecedented second World Twenty20 title but the in-form hosts will have to guard against complacency when they take on a spirited New Zealand in their campaign-opener here on Tuesday.

No host country has won the T20 world title in the last five editions and none has repeated a title triumph, but India’s settled combination, led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and familiarity with the conditions make them the odds-on favourites to script history.

The 2007 Champions, India go into the Super 10 Group 2 clash against New Zealand with their tails up as the number one ranked team in the world.

India have been on a roll in the shortest form of the game, winning their last seven outings which included a 3-0 whitewash of World 50-over champions Australia in the latter’s backyard.

They then went on to win the Asia Cup on a canter after beating Sri Lanka at home 2-1.

The five consecutive wins in Dhaka, including in the summit clash against Bangladesh that led to their continental supremacy in the T20 game, has given the team a huge morale boost.

However, Dhoni’s men will be wary of the fact that they have never beaten New Zealand in T20s in four outings in the past including once during their stunning title run in the inaugural edition in 2007 in South Africa.

South Korea's spy agency told lawmakers Friday that the number of North Korean cyberattacks on the South has doubled over the past month.

The National Intelligence Service told a parliamentary committee meeting that the North unsuccessfully tried to hack into the railway control system and computer networks of financial institutions in South Korea, according to the office of lawmaker Joo Ho-young who attended the private meeting.

According to the NIS, North Korea succeeded in hacking the phones of 40 of those 300 officials and stole their text and voice messages and phone logs, said an aide to Joo who requested anonymity because he wasn't authorized to speak to media publicly.

The NIS didn't say whether the stolen messages include any sensitive information.

Seoul has accused Pyongyang of launching other similar cyberattacks in recent years. Pyongyang has denied the allegations.

Animosities between the rival Koreas have risen since North Korea's nuclear test and long-range rocket launch earlier this year.

Furious over harsh new U.N. sanctions and the biggest-ever South Korea-U.S. military drills, North Korea has fired short-range missiles and artillery into the sea and vowed to expand its nuclear arsenal. On Friday, North Korea's state media quoted leader Kim Jong Un as having ordered more nuclear explosion tests but it didn't say when they would be conducted.
